Healthy skin has such a beautiful glow that defies age. And winter weather can be pretty rough and tough on your face. With the right routine, cleansers, moisturizers and treatments, you can have incredibly gorgeous looking skin. I receive a lot of DMs asking for recommendations about local spas and places to get that irresistible radiance. Skën Spain Arlington offers treatments that are able to luminize skin and restore it back to that pretty and youthful look we all love.
Daniel Lundquist, owner of Skën Spa invited me and a friend to receive a complimentary dermal infusion facial to experience the ultimate luxury for skin, an instant pick-me-up that has beautiful long-term benefits, too. The treatment is popular on social media with beauty bloggers and influencers. I’ve seen a bunch of influencers getting the treatment and sharing images of their face being vacuumed next to a a huge jar of the liquid gunk that comes out.
I invited one of my best friends, Leila to come along for the spa day. (She also agreed to let me take photos of her for this post.) Although, Leila and I get facials a few times a year as part of our self care routine, this was our first time trying the dermal infusion facial, a treatment that involves a basic milky cleanse and gentle massage prepping the skin for a special type of microdermabrasion blasting the face with micro crystals to remove dead skin and grime on the surface while vacuuming it all up. The dermal infusion machine also infuses the skin with a serum at the same time.
I love a good facial that doesn’t require extractions. Some people enjoy extractions, I don’t. I enjoy getting facials to achieve glowing skin that isn’t red or irritated after I leave the spa. The dermal infusion facial only lasted 30 minutes. Using a wand, Daniel began with the larger and less sensitive areas of my face, beginning with my chin, cheeks, forehead, and neck. He adjusted the crystals to a more sensitive setting, following the contours of my nose, my eye area, and even traced over my lips. It didn’t hurt or sting at all. However, it wasn’t a very pampering experience. This is a medical spa after all.
To be perfectly honest, it’s not the most relaxing facial, even though there are relaxing elements. So, if you’re looking for a relaxing treatment, your best bet might be to visit a beauty spa. However, I can definitely recommend dermal infusion for anyone with a dull complexion looking for some clarity and polish. The dermal infusion facial definitely brightened my complexion, took care of some small blackheads, cleared the hard-to-get pores around my nose, and, perhaps most notably, plumped up my lips. The full results from our facials took about a day to settle in and lasted about ten days. We were very impressed with the results and will definitely get another dermal infusion facial again.
