I am seriously still basking in the glow of my three day mini-vacation to Hutchinson Resort and Spathat I took almost one month ago! But before I begin my review, I’d like to give a huge shout out to the wonderful team at The Mayfield Groupfor rolling out the red carpet for all of us on this amazing trip. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to experience this amazing hotel and to meet so many other delightful bloggers and social media influencers from all over the country. Head over to my Insta to see all of the bloggers that attended this trip on my “Follow Friday” under Highlights.
Florida is blessed with a treasure trove of beaches and beach towns. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you already know how much I love Florida. So when Hutchinson Resort & Spa invited me to visit Hutchinson Island and Jensen Beach for a few days on a press trip with a small group of other bloggers I had never met before, I packed my bags and hit the friendly skies.
Hutchinson Resort & Spa is a brand new hotel that opened about a year and a half ago in October 2017. AAA Four-Diamond property. The hotel has 178 guest rooms, each decorated with modern, minimalistic coastal interior decor. With a relaxing color pallet of clean white, rich navy and soothing blue accents, accommodations offer guests three choices of views: resort, oceanside and pool. Every detail of these rooms is geared toward creating a zen-like haven from the hectic pace of day-to-day life — and who doesn’t want that?
Hutchinson Resort & Spa answered several requirements for me. One, it is very easy to get to. Under two hours by plane from Washington, D.C., to be exact, and even with a flight delay, not uncommon at Reagan National and Dulles in January, it still doesn’t take much time to fly there. Two, the resort is kid-friendly, with two pools, three restaurants and a beach with shallow water that your little ones could easily play in. And three, the resort, has one of the best restaurants I’ve ever experienced. Jensen Beach area residents come in for brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks at Drift Kitchen + Bar, a restaurant complete with two open-air bars.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a living greenery wall in the lobby, flanked by light modular stone and centered by a grand glass swordfish sculpture suspended from the vaulted ceiling, a nod to the region’s affinity for sport fishing culture. Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa’s interiors are outfitted in neutral, coastal tones, bold stripes and touches of driftwood.
As a busy mom to two kids, I couldn’t wait to experience a full night of uninterrupted television watching and sleep. The resort allows guests to choose from three separate views upon booking: resort, pool and my favorite, oceanside. I was fortunate to get the oceanside view in a room beckoning relaxation with crisp linens presenting pops of stripped textiles, large overhead and tiled showers, detailed shiplap walls, granite countertops and a private balcony where I could enjoy the gentle and calming sounds of the ocean waves. The bathroom was stocked with Opal Collection’s line of decadent NEST toiletries. For a glimpse inside my room, be sure to check it out over on my Instagram under Highlights/Hutchinson Resort!
Drift Kitchen + Bar
Drift Kitchen + Bar is Hutchinson Shore Resort’s signature oceanfront restaurant, offers fresh seafood and Italian specialties in a gorgeously designed, contemporary space overlooking the beach with beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to the restaurant being one of the best hotel restaurants I’ve ever experienced, it is one of the most Instagrammable places as well.
Meeting the PR team and all of the other bloggers was a dream come true! We had a Welcome Reception that began with a fun and essential mixology class. Our class was a crash course in creating a basic cocktail and leveling it up with fresh fruit, herbs and spices. Afterwards, we were treated to a pizza making workshop. There were several secrets to making the perfect pizza: the crust, the sauce, the fresh toppings and the wood fire oven. I can honestly say, it was one of the most delicious pizzas I’ve ever had in my life.
Dune Beach Bar
We enjoyed spectacular views of the beach and the Atlantic Ocean by sipping delicious cocktails at Dune Beach Bar, an oceanfront oasis you’re sure to love. One of the most sought out locations at the resort, the Dune Beach Bar is the perfect spot to start or end a memorable evening with family and friends.
Reflections Pool Bar
Reflections Pool Bar invites you to enjoy fresh, casual dining in a charming outdoor setting. Sip drinks poolside or enjoy a light lunch delivered right to your chair by friendly pool attendants. With games for all ages and a fun, laid-back atmosphere, it’s easy to see why the stylish Pool Bar is the perfect spot to spend the day. It’s the perfect place to spend each evening enjoying your favorite drink along with the best views of the sunset.
The Spa
Insider Tip:For visitors who arrive before check-in time, Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa presents The Opal Club – a calming space just outside the lobby where guests can kick back and convene as their room is readied. The Opal Club offers fresh towels and a vanity for guests who wish to take advantage of the pool and beach.
In addition to a tantalizing menu of treatments at their soothing spa, Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa provides guests with an all-encompassing wellness experience, including a full fitness studio complete with a Peloton Bike ®.
I indulged by getting a deep tissue hot stone massage. One hour is never long enough. I wish I could’ve spent my entire day getting pampered.
Activities
Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa boasts a well-rounded weekly activities program that is interactive and inspiring for guests seeking a connection with each other and the coastal surroundings.
We were treated to a very special private Sunrise Yoga class right on the beach. It was absolutely amazing!
Other weekly activities at the resort include: shell collecting , sandcastle building contests, corn hole competition, sea turtle scavenger hunt, dive-in movies at Reflections Pool, sunrise wake, Rise and Flow Yoga, evening rhythm drum circles on the beach and more.
If you’re planning a trip to Florida soon, I highly recommend the Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa. It’s the perfect getaway for a relaxing and rejuvenating. It’s close proximity to Jensen Beach allows for even more activities and sight seeing.
