This year Mother’s Day is going to look a little different, since we’re all socially distancing and can’t go out to eat. Historically, Mother’s Day has been one of the biggest days for restaurants all year, but that won’t be the case in 2020. So what can we do instead?
The team over at Carpe DC Food Tours has come up with a great solution! They just launched their DC Delivered Market Collections, featuring local small businesses from Union Market. These collections will rotate weekly, offering the best of Union Market vendors delivered straight to your door.
They have put together a special Mother’s Day Collection to kick off the series, which includes 3 full meals worth of food, including ingredients and premade items. They also put together a video recipe tutorial for each dish- to help you cook to perfection!
We got a sneak peak at the collection, and cooked their Pork Tenderloin dinner! The recipe was easy to follow, and came out delicious! It taught us how to season the pork to perfection, and roast along with fresh broccoli. It also included an amazing side of roasted potatoes as well–this made it super easy to make and clean up!
These collections are a great way to support local businesses, and Carpe DC also gives a portion of every sale to Bread for the City to help feed a family of four for a full day!
If you’re still searching for the perfect Mother’s Day present, look no further. This dining at home experience is very gift-worthy and most of all, mom-approved. You can place orders now through Thursday evening, to be delivered Saturday afternoon, while supplies last, so grab yours while you can! And Happy Mother’s Day!
