Angelica In The City was established in April 2016 as a Washington DC based online editorial destination with a focus on lifestyle, travel, fitness and more! It was created to be a resource where readers can discover places to get fit, delicious places to eat, exciting things to see and fun things to do with a local perspective.
I’ve been publishing a successful mommy blog called Clarendon Moms for five years. A lot of my friends, readers and the DC blogger community encouraged me to change course and share more personal experiences and to create a blog that moms and “non-moms” alike would enjoy reading.
I currently live in Arlington, Virginia, about a seven minute drive from Washington DC. I have a huge passion for exploring DC and seeking adventures around the world, especially with my family and friends. I’ve been on luxurious vacations and have traveled very frugally as well. I am happy traveling both ways, however you’ll find me mixing it up with a few high end suggestions as well as more affordable options. After all, people define luxury in different ways. To me, luxury is less about lavish exclusivity, fine dining and thread count (although those things are greatly appreciated). It’s more about the authentic experience and the immersion into local culture. It is travel that combines enrichment, enjoyment and education without stress, pressure of time or a daily routine. It is about connecting with others, creating fond memories and returning from your vacation rejuvenated, recharged and refreshed!
I believe the best advice comes from personal experience. I’d like to be able to offer you suggestions with a local perspective while giving you the inside scoop! I will never recommend something that I don’t love, and think worthy of your time or your hard earned money. I value our connection and your trust.
