I love trying new restaurants and test-driving recipes to the extent that I cook 3-4 days a week and go out to restaurants just as many times. Once every year, I like to give my digestive systems a break by doing a good detox and juice cleanse. And my favorite juice boutique is JRINK Juicery. This is not about weight loss (though it’s highly possible you’ll shed a few pounds), but rather a way to reset and reboot.
What I look for in a juice cleanse program:
COLD-PRESSED: This method of extraction doesn’t oxidize or degrade the ingredients and keeps nutrients and enzymes intact.
ORGANIC: Fruits and veggies should be free of pesticides.
RAW & UNPASTEURIZED: Raw pressed veggies that haven’t been heated maximizes the nutrients.
WHENEVER POSSIBLE, NO HPP: High Pressure Pascalization (HPP) is a method for preserving food without using heat. Bigger cold-pressed juice companies will use this to extend the shelf life of juices, allowing them to distribute to grocery stores and ship them. It’s not always possible, but I prefer juices without HPP.
HOW TO PREP:
It’s a good idea to start a cleanse by doing some clean-up within your diet first. The week before begin by eliminating caffeine, sugar, dairy, and meat: Juice detoxing may not be for everyone. If you’re a novice or have any questions or concerns, you should check with a physician before starting a juice cleanse.
Looking for a Reboot? I recommend JRINK!
Jrink offers five levels of juice cleanses: Beginner, Intermediate, Professional, Clean Eating and Work Week Fuel in both a 3 day and 5 day package. The juice is made fresh on-site every day and it’s flavors are vibrant and delicious!
The Hulk is my personal favorite. The combination of green juice and nut milk makes this the perfect protein rich pre and/or post workout meal replacement.
JRINK makes juicing so easy for busy people on the go! You can pick up in store or get it delivered to your house. There’s even a Drive-thru at the Clarendon location! Simpy awesome! For more information, visit www.jrink.com.
{Special Thanks to JRINK for partnering on this post!}
